Clwyd South MP Susan Elan Jones has met with RSPCA staff in Parliament to discuss the recent work the organisation has been doing to support animal welfare.
Last year, the investigative efforts of the RSPCA led to 67 people in Wales being convicted of 148 animal welfare-related offences. During the same period, the RSPCA Cymru inspectorate dealt with 10,176 complaints of alleged cruelty and rescued a total of 8,220 animals.
Susan Elan Jones MP said: “I was delighted to have had the opportunity to talk with the members of staff for the RSPCA about the fantastic work they continue to do. Animal welfare has always been a subject of great interest to me and I have made many formal representations on animal welfare issues in the past; I will continue to do so at all levels, both in debates in the House of Commons and in written submissions”.
