MP welcomes ombudsman report launch

Today in Parliament (30/1/19), Susan Elan Jones MP joined Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis and others at the launch of a report calling for improvements to the ombudsman service.

Speaking after the event, the Clwyd South MP said:
“As someone who runs an active advice service for my constituents,  I really welcome this report by the All Party Parliamentary Group for Consumer Protection. It’s vital we have an ombudsman sector that works for members of the public who have valid complaints that need to be investigated. Today’s report is full of sensible suggestions like making sure complainants only have to wait four weeks before their complaints are passed on and requiring ombudsmen to give evidence to parliamentary select committees. I hope UK Government take on board these ideas and makes the necessary statutory changes.”
