Susan Elan Jones MP is calling on members of the public to be pro-active in reporting cases of animal cruelty.
Speaking after a day spent shadowing RSPCA inspector Kia Thomas, the Clwyd South MP said:
“I’ve campaigned for many years for tougher animal welfare laws, but I think it’s also vital that we all play our part if we want to make sure animals are not treated cruelly or neglected.
“The RSPCA is a really excellent organisation and I was privileged to spend a day with one of their inspectors recently.
“I would urge anyone who suspects an animal is being treated cruelly or neglected to phone the RSPCA helpline on 0300 1234 999. The helpline is open 24 hours a day and calls are charged at local call rate. Remember, just one simple call to the RSPCA could be all it takes to rescue a suffering animal.”
