Susan Elan Jones MP has attended a meeting on Debt and credit markets which was held in Parliament.
The Clwyd South MP, who is a member of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Debt and Personal Finance, joined other MPs, peers and representatives of debt advice charities and credit companies at the meeting.
Susan Elan Jones MP said: “Every year since I have been elected, my staff team and I have helped around 800-1,000 constituents. And every year, some of the people we have helped have problems relating to debt. The All Party Parliamentary Group for Debt and Personal Finance is administered by the excellent Debt advice charity StepChange. It has won campaigns to protect low-income households on payday loans, overdrafts and rent-to-own, and I am very pleased to speak up for my constituents at these meetings.”
Tuesday’s meeting of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Debt and Personal Finance was addressed by directors of the Financial Conduct Authority, the Finance and Leasing Association and StepChange Debt Charity, and Economic Secretary to the Treasury John Glen MP.
