Susan Elan Jones MP visits local entrepreneur for Small Business Saturday (with attachment)

Susan Elan Jones MP visited local business, Tea Drop, to catch up with its entrepreneurial owner, Arjun Singh, in the run up to Small Business Saturday on the 2nd December.

The business, launched in June 2016 and based in Cefn Mawr, sources a dazzling array of organic teas from across the globe; selling them online through their website: http://www.teadrop.co.uk/tea/blends/.

Arjun said of his business: “We pride ourselves on being a boutique, rather than artisan brand. Our tea leaves are handpicked before being heat sealed at source to keep them as fresh as possible; you wouldn’t open a bottle of wine, leaving it for a few days before replacing the cork, then expect the wine to be as good”.

Following the visit, Susan Elan Jones MP said: “I am delighted to have had the opportunity to visit Tea Drop today. It is an excellent example of a local, family run business, which is what Small Business Saturday is all about. It is particularly pleasing to see how Arjun strives to make the business as socially responsible as possible. From being an almost paper free office to supporting health and education programmes for plantation workers and their families, Tea Drop is an outstanding example of how a small, conscientiously run business can have a significant impact on the world stage”.
